General Inpatient Hospice
Providing Comfort, Compassion and Enhanced Quality of Life
We provide inpatient hospice care through The Sanctuary, an environment that provides the comforts of home to those who are nearing the end of life and are no longer seeking curative treatment. The goal of The Sanctuary is to manage pain and symptoms, so that the patient is able to celebrate each moment of life comfortably and peacefully. We also provide counseling to family members to help them through this emotional time.
- Our physicians and nurses are certified in hospice and palliative care and advanced illness medicine. This highly skilled team works to relieve pain and provide treatment for symptoms such as fatigue, breathlessness, nausea and anxiety.
- Social workers provide emotional support and grief counseling as well as facilitate bereavement services and decision making.
- Counselors (spiritual and nonspiritual) are available to address the emotional needs of patients and family, ranging from music therapy to bereavement counseling. Our spiritual counselors represent multiple faiths and denominations.
